Introduction

Hop on the NTT Airlines and buckle up for a festive and musical ride! Vocal Asia and director/ playwright Daniel WANG team up with three Taiwanese a cappella groups—Semiscon, Voco Novo and The Wanted, the winner of Best Vocal Group of 2021 Golden Melody Awards—to present a purely vocal feast showcasing a wide variety of music pieces and styles from around the world. The show also features singer Sangpuy who won Best Indigenous Singer trice to contribute his voice on stage. The last leg of the journey finishes with a musical suite of Taiwan’s original productions like Tropical Angels and Taiwan Hólíwood: A Musical Comedy ending on a perfect note for 2021.

Artistic and Creative Team

Vocal Asia

Established in 2010, Vocal Asia is the first multi-national platform and international organization dedicated to a cappella music. Based in Taiwan, they gather regional a cappella groups, singers and song-writers and gather information and knowledge from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and China, etc. Vocal Asia also look to further expand their work to promote a cappella making, education, market development and charity events. They also focus on integrating the voices from Asia and elevating the status of a cappella music in Asia as an art form. As the Creative & Planning Team of 2021 New Year’s Eve Concert - NTT Airlines, Vocal Asia invites 3 top-tier a cappella groups of different styles and designs the program accordingly. Director/ playwright Daniel WANG, an excellent local artistic team, and the award-winning Hong Kong actor, Anthony WONG Chau-sang will all get together to bring a refreshing and melodious night for the audience in Taichung.
